- DIET: Panda bears eats bamboo. The average giant panda has to eat as much as 20 to 45 lbs (9-20 kg) of bamboo shoots a day.
- POPULATION: Today, an estimated 2,000 pandas are found in the wild.
BABY PANDA
SIZE OF BABY PANDA: Panda bears are the smallest newborn mammal, aside from marsupials, in relation to the size of the mother panda bear. Baby panda bears weight only 3 to 5 oz., and are similar in length and width to a stick of butter.
